Andrew D’Amico

Biography

Leading our Business Analytics Practice and our PMO, Andrew is a Project Management Institute (PMI) Disciplined Agile Senior Scrum Master (DASSM) and Project Management Professional (PMP) with a focus on implementation of Artificial Intelligence projects. As a DASSM and a PMP Andrew has demonstrated expertise in both the foundations of project management (Predictive or “Waterfall” project management) as well as enterprise implementation and scaling of Agile principals. Andrew has practiced as both a Scrum Master on Scrum Projects, and an agile project manager utilizing Lean and Disciplined Agile methodologies. He believes that every project and every team is different and so true agility is the ability to adapt contextually.

Andrew has previous experience working with start-ups in the areas of business and product development, predictive “People Analytics,” and disruptive technologies such as blockchain and graph databases. In business analytics he combines his experience as a project manager with business analysis and data science to deliver solutions specifically tailored to solving the problem of the business unit. His focus in machine learning is on intersection of disruptive technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, neural networks, and remote sensing, and the application of these tools in cross-fields.

Professionally Andrew serves on multiple boards and associations. He is currently the Vice President of Operations for the Northwestern University Master of Science in Data Science Student Leadership Council. He is also the Director of Executive Outreach for the Project Management Institute Chicagoland Chapter. Andrew is an active member of the IEEE, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and the International Institute of Business Analysts (IIBA).

In October of 2021 Andrew will be serving as a session chair for the implementation track of the ValleyML.ai Artificial Intelligence conference.

Andrew is currently working on his thesis work and a candidate of the Masters of Science in Data Science in Artificial Intelligence program at Northwestern University in Evanston Illinois. Previously he received his double undergraduate degree in Philosophy and English literature from Loyola University Chicago, specializing in Philosophy of Science. His academic research interests focus on business applications of data science within various business models, frameworks, and project structures.

In addition to the Business Analytics Practice and the PMO, Andrew is also closely involved with the GIS Practice and general operations.
